Plenary Session (4) :
ICOLC and the Pandemic

Title: Plenary Session (4) : ICOLC and the Pandemic

This session is driven by participants, the end goal should be a list of items that ICOLC could undertake to help consortia in the pandemic.

Apart from a quick look at the results of the ICOLC survey from November 2020

(Results link: – Password to access survey is icolc2020), we propose the following items:

  • Walk-in users? Have they disappeared? What would an ICOLC approach look like? Who has implemented online registration to give walk-in users a temporary account with remote access to digital resources?
  • Usage of digital library? How high was the spike in spring 2020? Did it flatten in summer and rise again in autumn? Is this just temporary or is higher usage here to stay? Should ICOLC collect existing data on the pandemic period?
  • What type of digital content was in demand? Any new patterns? Any Surprises?
  • Did the relationship between libraries and consortia change? How?
  • Any other thoughts: Please come prepared, put them in the chat or raise your hand!
